Life by Design
“To inspire people to grow in their life with God…” Thus begins the mission statement for The Life Christian Church. We take this mission seriously and to that end, we have divided our year into strategically concentrated, 4-month time periods – trimesters. This allows us to offer fresh and focused opportunities for “learning, living, and leading” at key times during the year. This system has helped to foster amazing growth for many of us.
Last year’s three trimesters targeted important but different aspects of our spiritual lives. The first trimester (T1-2009) focused on learning how to improve the important relationships in our lives through our teaching series on love. In T2 Pastor Terry Smith and The Creative Arts Team encouraged us to overcome barriers to spiritual health and to seek God’s presence to sustain spiritual health with the Journey to Wellness and Crave Series. T3 taught us to look beyond ourselves by sharing our faith with others, thereby growing in our own relationship with God.
The spiritual growth plan for T1-2010 (January-April), challenges us to take the initiative to take the next step in our own spiritual journey. Pastor Terry Smith and the Creative Arts Team will launch the spiritual growth campaign during the weekend of January 16 and 17. The teaching theme, Life By Design: Building the Life God Purposed, will carry through the month of February. Over several exciting weeks, Pastor Terry will use inspired Bible teaching and apply it to our lives today! The premise for this message series is that life was designed to be lived with Christ at the center.
1Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is true worship. 2Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.
