ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM

The goal of the Administrative Team is to facilitate communications through email, letters, marketing pieces and more. Data management is an essential element of the Administrative Team. For this reason we are providing those with excellent administrative and organization skills an opportunity to serve on a team that values your ability to execute in this area.

IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TEAM

  • The primary goal of this team is to turn Guests into Regular Attendees. This is accomplished through a simple, easy to understand and maintain process. Team members meet to complete weekend celebration follow-up. Members track Guests through Connection Cards and respond to each inquiry via emails, mailings and/or phone calls.

MAILING SUPPORT TEAM

  • The Mailing Support Team assists with the mailing of letters, marketing pieces, and memos from Pastor Terry Smith. Responsibilities may include folding letters, cutting marketing pieces, labeling, stuffing and sealing envelopes and applying postage.

DATA MANAGEMENT SUPPORT TEAM

  • The Data Management Support Team ensures all data is accurate and current in the TLCC database by entering new guests and updating information where necessary. Team members also make sure information such as ministry involvement, classes attended, marital status, etc. is up-to-date.

BUILDINGS & GROUNDS TEAM

The purpose of the Buildings & Grounds is to provide a clean, organized, and well maintained environment for current members, regular attendees, and newcomers. It’s an opportunity to fellowship with one another; use our gifts and services to tackle a variety of projects that will help to “Keep God’s House” in good working order.

CHURCH & COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT TEAM

Church & Community Involvement Ministry (CCIM) exists to inspire and equip others to serve in and from The Life Christian Church with their God-given gifts and the heart of Jesus Christ.

CCI RESEARCH TEAM

  • Serve through researching, reading and providing summaries of key articles, books and other resources on the World Wide Web.

CCI ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM

  • Serve by making phone calls, crafting emails, and completing various administrative tasks and projects.

(SERVE) FOCUS TEAM

  • An event designed to stimulate growth in others by leading them to a life focused upon God, serving others, and personal development. Provide support through set-up and break-down, taking photos, food preparation, hosting, and facilitating table discussions.

ACADEMY STREET FIREHOUSE TEAM

  • ASF is a refuge for children who have been impacted by HIV/Aids. TLCC recently taught them how to cook international food for six weeks and provide over 30 meals to enjoy with their families at the International Food Festival. TLCC is looking for additional ways to expand our involvement there.

CHRISTINE’S KITCHEN TEAM

  • Our Christine’s Kitchen Team serves the West Orange community by providing dignity to the needy through friendship and food. Located right around the corner from our Worship Center and requires just a few hours of your time once a month on a Saturday.

INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK TEAM

  • IHN brings shelter, meals, and support services to families without homes. We cook and serve meals, play with children and/or help with homework, and interact with guests with respect and compassion.

PRIDE ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL TEAM

  • In partnership with The Cotchery Foundation’s Boys and Girls Club TLCC impacts the lives of PACS’s students by providing mentors to facilitate a seven week course that is designed to encourage students to break down the barriers that inhibit them from succeeding in life.

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS

  • Every Trimester The Life Christian Church serves our local community through a variety of service projects. These projects are selected to meet very specific felt needs in our community and provide members, regular attendees, guests and their friends the opportunity to serve on a very short term basis. These are especially great opportunities for those whose schedules often prohibit long term commitments.

CHURCH BUSINESS MINISTRY

Church Business Ministry provides a forum for those with giftings in business, organization and leadership to serve for God’s greater glory. The purpose of this ministry is twofold: (1) to provide the financial infrastructure that allows The Life Christian Church to serve others both inside and outside of the church, and (2) to be a knowledgeable resource of financial and general business information for others.

STEWARDSHIP TEAM

  • The Stewardship Team will be committed to developing education and skill building seminars/events around issues such as getting out of debt, retirement planning, budgeting, college savings, investment principles, etc. Team members will facilitate the Financial Peace University class under the direction of the Director of Operations and Finance. There will be opportunities to serve people inside and outside the congregation with value-added principles, as well as provide financial counseling to those who need it.

FUNDRAISING TEAM

  • The Fundraising Team will plan, organize and execute fundraising projects that inspire people and build fellowship. Fundraising Events may include dinners, award galas, silent auctions, and arts and music performances. Participating on this team will be a great opportunity to exercise your God-given talents for organization and event planning.

CREATIVE ARTS TEAM

The mission of all TLCC Creative Arts Teams is to bring honor and glory to God and to recapture the “awe” of the Acts 2 church by worshipping God through creative and artistic expression.

CREATIVE TEAM

  • Creative Team members meet bi-weekly to brainstorm creative themes for upcoming Weekend Celebrations and special events. The scope of creative elements includes drama, music, video, dance, etc. Team members are also responsible for adapting existing and creating original stage and video pieces.

DRAMA TEAM

  • Drama Team members perform relevant comedic and dramatic sketches, monologues, and other pieces at a highly professional level. Previous stage acting experience is required.

DANCE TEAM

  • Dance Team members are responsible for adapting existing and creating original dance pieces for performance during weekend celebrations and intermittent mid-week services. Team members perform relevant dance pieces in many styles including jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, and interpretive dance at a highly professional level. Some dance experience is required but beginners are welcome to audition.

VISUAL ARTS (The Art Project)

  • The Visual Arts Team will provide an opportunity for visual artists – painters, sculptors, and spoken word artists, etc. to collaborate and create God-honoring pieces of art. Team members will serve to inspire and connect others to God through the Arts.

SET AND STAGE DESIGN TEAM

  • Set and Stage Design Team members will construct and deconstruct custom sets that support specific series themes and will help design stage presentation that will enhance weekend experiences.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS TEAM

The First Impressions team of The Life Christian Church exists to create a secure and orderly environment for all in attendance. The First Impressions ministry plays an important role in the life of our church because we provide the first look at TLCC by outsiders. Through this ministry, we strive to make newcomers and members feel welcome and loved.

GREETERS

  • Greeters are highly visible team that welcomes guests with a smiling face, warm handshake, and friendly greeting.

HOSTS

  • Hosts and hostesses greet everyone; pass out bulletins; assist people with seating; collect Connection Cards and offering; and organize the Worship Center for each service. Ushers care for people while minimizing distractions to the worship experience.

WELCOME CENTER

  • Team members will provide direction, answer questions and share key information about The Life Christian Church. They also will have a working knowledge of our history, core values, strategy and upcoming events.

SECURITY

  • The Security Team provides a secure environment at TLCC. They are constantly looking out for any situations that are out of place. Individuals in this ministry should have knowledge or background in security and/or emergency medical procedures.

WEEKEND PREP

  • The Weekend Prep Team prepares all the bulletins for the weekend service. Members should arrive one and one half hour before service, fold the bulletin and insert all material for all three services. Also responsible for cleaning entrance doors to the Worship Center.

PARKING LOT TEAM

  • Members of this highly visible team greet our guests as they arrive from the parking lot. They provide direction to alternate parking if needed; assist guests with an umbrella if needed and escort them to the Worship Center. This team may also offer to carry packages or assist with children, ensuring their safety crossing the street.

HOSPITALITY TEAM

We are always hospitable to strangers. This is part of the vision for The Life Christian Church. Hospitality is part of our DNA and it is particularly important in regards to people who are new or are visiting the church for the first time. A friendly, familiar environment, such as a coffee bar or a store can help to ease any anxiety a first time guest might feel.

THE LIFE CAFÉ TEAM

  • The Life Cafe is a key area where first time guests will form first impressions of The Life Christian Church. So it is crucial for cafe team members to be friendly, helpful and responsive to guests’ questions and requests. Team members serve snacks, soda and cappuccinos, ring up purchases and keep a clean and sanitary setting, all in a friendly and fast-paced environment.

THE RESOURCE CENTER TEAM

  • The Resource Center is a key area where first time guests will form first impressions of The Life Christian Church. Team members always strive to be friendly, helpful and responsive to questions and requests. The Resource Center sells media resources such as books, CDs and DVDs. Team members answer questions about products, ring up purchases and provide excellent customer service.

iAM STUDENT MINISTRIES

Our heartbeat is to inspire a young generation grow in their lives with God and to learn, live, and lead as authentic followers of Jesus Christ. Our vision is that when a student leaves high school, they will know basic Christian doctrine and worldview, have experienced authentic Christianity, and are practicing leadership in and from The Life Christian Church.

iTHINK TEAM

  • The iThink Team is a student team that gathers to discuss possible ideas for the overall student ministry.

iWORK TEAM

  • The iWork Team is the event staff responsible for the setup/breakdown of student meetings and events.

iCLICK TEAM

  • The iClick Team is the technical department responsible for audio, video, and technical productions of meetings and events.

iIMAGINE TEAM

  • The iImagine Team is the creative department responsible for skits, dramas, games, contests, and music.

iSING TEAM

  • The iSing Team is the worship band responsible for the live music at events.

iLEAD TEAM

  • The iLead Team is the adult leadership team that coaches and develops student team members.

iPLAN TEAM

  • The iPlan Team is the event promotions department responsible for promoting small groups, The Bridge, and special events.

iSMILE TEAM

  • The iSmile Team is the 1st Impressions and Follow up department responsible for greeting first time guests as well as follow up.

iPRAY TEAM

  • The iPray Team provides opportunities for students to receive prayer and is responsible for keeping attendance through the student care system.

iSERVE TEAM

  • The iServe Team is responsible for The Shack (life cafe), and ensures smooth operation before and after Sunday night meetings and special events.

KIDZONE

In KidZone, our goal is to lead kids to develop a real relationship with God, develop them into leaders, and equip them to serve others. We also believe that building meaningful relationships with children is key to life change. We’d love the opportunity to partner with you in building a foundation for our children that will last a lifetime as we prepare the leaders of today and tomorrow to be world changers!

NURSERY

  • The nursery provides a safe, welcoming, and peaceful atmosphere where infants are cared for and nurtured by loving caregivers.

PRESCHOOL

  • Preschoolers are taught using Lil’K, an interactive multimedia-based curriculum. Lil’K incorporates a teaching video, a sing-a-long worship song in music video form, and a Bible verse with fun, memorable movements. Preschoolers also participate in fun, active, Bible-learning activities during Group Activity Time and finish with a craft that associates the lesson objective to preschooler’s lives.

ELEMENTARY

  • Elementary children are taught using Kidmo, an innovative curriculum designed to capture and invigorate the imaginations of children. Kidmo initiates personal, social and cultural transformation by connecting kids with a Biblical worldview. As kids enter the classroom, music videos playing on a large projection screen and vibrant music pumping through the speakers create a high-energy, exciting atmosphere. State-of-the-art technology, creative teaching, and group-friendly competition is used to teach kids how to understand Biblical truth and apply it to their daily lives. Children are also engaged in small groups and led by caring, dedicated small group leaders who connect with them on their own level.

CLUB 56

  • In KidZone, fifth and sixth graders will be equipped to impact their generation for Christ. After joining in the worship celebration in the main auditorium, they will then go into their own lesson time. Their curriculum uses multimedia to introduce lessons in a dynamic and unique way. Its incredible look and creativity will capture their interest as our passionate teachers answer real questions that middle-school students are asking about God and life in a way that they can relate to.

LIFE GROUPS

LIFE Groups (LIFE In a Family Environment) meet regularly in various homes all around the metro area. These groups create a positive environment where friendships can be formed, people an share their struggles, dreams and victories, and spiritual growth can be experienced. We like to say it’s a family thing!

LIFE GROUP HOSTS

  • As a LIFE Group Host you do much more than just provide a home to meet in! You are a vitally important part of the team. If you can provide a clean, comfortable home environment; a warm and friendly environment; assist in organizing meals for members in the hospital or other special needs; assist in organizing weekly refreshments and occasional socials; and attend training once a trimester, then you may be someone we’re looking for! Certain requirements apply.

LIFE GROUP LEADERS

  • As a LIFE Group Leader you are on the frontlines of providing care and helping others to grow in their lives with God! If you can prepare for and lead discussions; attend leader training; track the needs of group members; communicate special needs up-line to your LIFE Group Coach; complete weekly attendance; and visit group members in the hospital, then you may be someone we’re looking for! Certain requirements apply.

LIFE GROUP ADMINISTRATION

  • Team members provide communication and administrative support to the LIFE Group Coordinator. Responsibilities may include facilitating communication to the congregation and between LIFE Group Leaders, data collection, mailings, special events and pastoral issues. Confidential information is dealt with and thus some requirements are high.

SPANISH CURRICULUM TRANSLATION

  • The Spanish Curriculum Translation Team translates LIFE Group Curriculum from English to Spanish for the Spanish speaking LIFE Groups.

THE ALPHA COURSE

  • At an Alpha course people explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day or weekend away. The Alpha Course team is looking for volunteers to support this course through set/up and take down and providing food for meetings.

OFFICE OF THE PASTOR

The vision of the Office of the Pastor Support Team is to serve the ongoing needs of The Life Christian Church by providing overall support to the Senior Pastor and his ministry. If you love helping, providing hospitality, and enjoy serving alongside others with a similar passion, the Office of the Pastor has a place for you.

COMMUNION TEAM

  • The Communion Team exists to ensure that Communion is available for all believers. Communion is served monthly, alternating between our weekend celebration services and Vertical events. The Communion Team, led by its Team Coordinator, is responsible for all aspects of Communion preparation including setting up, breaking down, ordering and maintaining supplies and keeping Communion materials in order. If you have a heart for service, and are available to serve monthly or bimonthly, the Communion Team can use you!

PASTOR’S WEEKEND ASSISTANT TEAM

  • The Pastor’s Assistants are truly special and unique individuals. They are primarily responsible for assisting the Senior Pastor and/or guest speakers and their spouses during weekend celebrations and other TLCC special events. This includes setting up the Green Room, attending the tech meeting prior to the Saturday (or Sunday) celebrations and subsequently reporting back to Senior Pastor, ensuring that there are adequate refreshments in the Green Room and being available to assist the Senior Pastor and guests as needed.

GUEST TRANSPORTATION TEAM

  • This team’s purpose is to help create an inviting and warm atmosphere for our visiting pastors and special guests, from the moment they arrive in our area! This is an “as needed” team that provides transportation for our guests while they are here at TLCC. Duties will include picking them up and/or dropping them off at airports or train stations and transporting them between their hotels and the Worship Center. Request for teem member’s service is always submitted in a timely manner to allow for proper planning.

TLCC WEDDING TEAM

  • At TLCC, we believe the marriage ceremony is a testament to the love and loyalty of human relationships given to us by our Heavenly Father, and TLCC is very honored to be a part of this special time in a couple’s life. Members of the TLCC Wedding Team help to pull all the pieces together, from the preliminary planning stages through the end at the Worship Center on the wedding day.

PASTOR’S SUPPORT TEAM

  • The Pastor’s Support Team assists the Pastor’s Office in organizing and maintaining the Pastor’s library, Weekend Talks, and other special messages. Additional responsibilities may include copying, filing, and special projects.

PATH

PATH (Peace over Addiction Through Healing) is a safe haven where people with addictions can meet and receive support in a positive, faith building environment. The PATH program includes many areas where you can get involved.

EVENT COORDINATION TEAM

  • The Event Coordination Team helps organize PATH events such as retreats, seminars, and anniversaries. This team plans and executes everything involved in events such as creating themes, food planning, decorating, and more!

ADMINISTRATION TEAM

  • The goal of the Administration Team is to provide an opportunity for individuals with administrative and organizational gifts to serve. Team members are responsible for emails, letters, marketing pieces, and more. A crucial responsibility of this team is data management.

COUNSELORS

  • Experienced professional counselors are sought for individual counseling to alcohol and drug addicted individuals as well as their families.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS TEAM

  • The Fundraising Events Team will plan, organize and execute fundraising events that inspire people and build fellowship. This is a great opportunity to exercise your God-given talents for organization and event planning.

PATH SUPPORT TEAM

  • The PATH Support Team provides support to family members and friends of the addicted in a group setting.

PRODUCTION

The mission of all TLCC Production Teams is to facilitate optimal and seamless operations during Weekend Celebrations and intermittent mid-week services in order to focus hearts and minds on God.

CELEBRATION DIRECTORS

  • Weekend Celebration Service Directors are responsible for directing the flow of Weekend Celebrations using the Tech Sheet as a tool. Directors oversee all Production Team members, musicians, drama team, and all other participants in the service.

DIRECTOR’S ASSISTANTS

  • Director’s Assistants are responsible for operating all lighting effects used during Weekend Celebrations and special events.

SOUND TECHNICIANS

  • Sound Technicians are responsible for operating all sound equipment used during Weekend Celebrations and special events.

PRO-PRESENTER TEAM

  • Pro-Presenter Team members are responsible for operating the worship presentation and videos during services. They ensure that the presentations and videos coordinate precisely with the unique flow and order of each individual service.

STAGE HANDS

  • Stage Hands are responsible for ensuring all physical elements are taken on and off the stage at the appropriate times during Weekend Celebrations and special events.

VIDEOGRAPHER TEAM

  • Videographer Team members will be responsible to provide professional-quality video coverage of regular Weekend Celebrations, pertinent mid-week services, and TLCC events.

VIDEO EDITING TEAM

  • The Video Editing Team will be responsible to provide professional-quality video editing of Weekend Celebration packages, creative pieces, and original videos

WORSHIP ARTS

The Worship Team is about putting your giftedness to work for the glory of God! The Worship Team is a dedicated group of singers and musicians who always welcome talented members with musical abilities to audition for and join the team. In addition to Weekend Celebrations there are many opportunities to serve at other events and small group settings as well.

SINGERS

  • This group sings worship songs and special music at weekend celebrations and special events to create an environment of worship and praise to God. A vocal audition with the Worship Director is required for joining this team. A Worship Team Application Packet is available at the Resource Center.

BAND

  • This group includes those who play the bass guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, congas, drums, organ, piano and more! An instrument audition with the Worship Director is required for joining this team. A Worship Team Application Packet is available at the Resource Center.
