A Letter from Pastor

It is with a deep sense of purpose and earnest enthusiasm that I ask you to consider The Love Project – Mission-Expansion Campaign. Perhaps the best-known passage in scripture is, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son.” (John 3:16) The Love Project will present each of us an opportunity to love God’s world with Him and to give sacrificially to His redemptive mission. We strongly believe that for The Life Christian Church to continue to expand this mission, we must deliver on our dream to build a mission center at 747 Northfield Avenue in West Orange.

We have accomplished much towards developing 747. Because of the sacrifices of so many of you, we have transformed a broken down farm and service station into a beautiful property with a new road, retention pond and landscaped offices. But the goal is to build a house of worship – a center for fulfilling our mission.

The Love Project, if successful, will provide the funding for us to actually start building. As we have in the past, we will also give 5% of our funds to other causes, particularly to The Love Project Rwanda that includes adopting a genocide survivors’ village and continuing to develop the Global Leadership Center there.

I am painfully aware that we are in tough economic times. Some may wonder if we are a little crazy to go forward with this project. But sometimes love does crazy things. The bottom line is that we love God’s world and want to join with Him in redeeming it. That is the spirit of The Love Project.  I simply ask you to hear this vision over the next several weeks, consider our mission and pray about what contribution you in faith can make over the next three years.

For Life and Love,

Pastor Terry A. Smith
