Youth Group
TLCC Youth exists to help students Grow in their life with God, so they can Learn, Live and Lead as followers of Jesus Christ; thus impacting the world around them.
Each week youth grade 7-12 gather on Wednesday nights at ReFuel to corporately worship, engage in a biblical teaching, and encourage one another through LIFE Groups. There is always an element of surprise to ReFuel, no 2 are ever the same. It is our goal that each student finds there place in this time of ReFuel-ing, and feels a part of our TLCC Family.
We follow a very simple strategy each month during ReFuel called The F.I.S.H. Cycle. Every element of ReFuel is prepped for the week of the cycle we are in and also prepares the youth for what will be discussed throughout the church over the next week and trimester. Week 1 – Focus, Week 2 – Inspire, Week 3 – Share, Week 4 – Hook. This is the same model our youth use at their schools to be strategic in sharing the love and message of Jesus Christ on their campuses, joining with other Christian students in First Priority (www.firstpriority.org).
LIFE Groups are the heartbeat of our church, and such is the case with our youth. Time is set aside each week for youth to discuss and challenge one another topically. Groups are separated by age and gender as adult and youth leadership allows.
TLCC Youth are also involved in a huge worship event called Vertical every other month, as well as a chaotic event led by students called Concrete which also occurs every other month.
Finally, TLCC Youth desire to give their lives away as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1+2) so they are involved in missional projects like the local soup kitchen, the Ghana warehouse, and missions trips to countries like Haiti, Ghana, Mexico and more.
