Baptism is an important beginning step for every believer. If you haven’t been baptized, join us at our next Baptism Celebration!
WHO SHOULD BE BAPTIZED?
Everyone who believes in Jesus.
“Those who gladly received his word were baptized…” – Acts 2:41
“But now the people believed Philip’s message of Good News concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ. As a result, many men and women were baptized.” – Acts 8:12
WHAT IS BAPTISM?
It’s how believers respond to the Good News of Jesus.
When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. – Acts 2:37-38
So beginning with this same Scripture, Philip told him the Good News about Jesus. As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?” He ordered the carriage to stop, and they went down into the water, and Philip baptized him. – Acts 8:35-38
HOW WILL I BE BAPTIZED?
Like every baptism in the Bible, by immersion.
“As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water.” – Matthew 3:16
“…then both Philip and the man went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water…” – Acts 8:38-39
WHY SHOULD I BE BAPTIZED?
Jesus and the early church leaders commanded water baptism.
Then he (Jesus) said, “Go into the world. Go everywhere and announce the Message of God’s good news to one and all. Whoever believes and is baptized is saved…” – Mark 16:15-16
…Peter answered, 47 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. – Acts 10:46-48
