OVERVIEW
The primary responsibility of the Facilities Coordinator is to ensure The Life Christian Church facilities and grounds are maintained as a beautiful place of worship.

HOURS
Sundays 7:00am – 2:00pm
Monday – Thursday 9:00am – 5:30pm
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
BUILDINGS & GROUNDS

Regularly walk the grounds and facility to ensure cleanliness and that utilities and equipment are in proper working order.

Create and track a list of projects to maintain and beautify the campus.

Systematize and document building procedures wherever possible.
-
Provide oversight of contractors in the maintenance and repair of HVAC system, electrical system, alarms, elevators, fire sprinkler system, plumbing, landscaping, cleaning, etc.

Work with contractors to determine the best acquisition price for purchased materials and projects.
-
Inventory and purchase janitorial and building supplies.
-
Make necessary building repairs which may include, but are not limited to:
-
Regularly perform wall repair, spackling and painting, and remove unsightly marks on the walls or glass surfaces.

Plumbing should be kept in proper working order at all times.
-
Regularly set and monitor thermostats throughout the building, change ceiling tiles, shampoo carpet, replace light bulbs and spot clean.
-
Set up and breakdown baptistery.
-
Set-up and breakdown rooms in preparation for various events & meetings. Requires ability to lift and move tables and chairs.

When a repair is beyond departmental expertise, a description of the problem should be brought to supervisor’s attention. At least 2-3 cost quotes should be obtained.

Serve in a facilities maintenance and security capacity before, during and after Sunday church services.

Responsible for providing general care for church owned/leased vehicles, e.g. car washes, refill gas tank, etc.

Assist in building stage sets and moving materials in and out of auditorium.

Use of a lift to 30 feet.
-
Give direction to and provide guidance and oversight to volunteers in the proper execution of facilities maintenance repairs and upkeep activities.

Schedule and oversee all inspections as required by municipal and state authorities.

May occasionally need to schedule West Orange Traffic Police for certain events.

Build, lead, and serve Buildings and Grounds volunteer LIFE team.

Build, lead, and serve Weekend Security volunteer LIFE team.

QUALIFICATIONS
​
EDUCATION:
-
High school degree required
-
Two-year degree or trade certification is a plus
​​
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
-
3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance and repair, including experience assigning and tracking projects through completion
-
Must be a self-starter with ability to take initiative and complete projects on time
-
Must be able to lead and prioritize in a multi-task environment
