A Word From Your Pastor
Dear TLCC member or regular attender, A cautionary tale emerges from the life of a king named Hezekiah, who ascended to the throne of Judah in 715 BC. In the twilight of his 29-year reign, he was told that there would be peace during his lifetime but that his children were destined to suffer horrible loss during theirs. His response to this devastating prophecy was confounding. He said, “the word of the Lord you have spoken is good...there will be peace and security in my lifetime.” (2 King 20:19 CSB). Though Hezekiah had done a lot of good, his legacy was marred by this selfish mindset and these “it’s all about me” words. Hezekiah did not care about who was next.
